Christmas Around the World

Using the Joyning the Learning Approach, we studied Christmas Around the World for a mini topic before Christmas. Having studied Glasgow Airport as our first topic, we then learnt about how different countries aorund the world celebrated Christmas. This was a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.

Christmas Fayre Enterprise Crafts

Creating fridge magnets and tree decorations to sell at our Christmas Fayre proved to be a very popular project. The creative skills of our class are shown in the pictures and helped to raise a fantastic amount at the Fayre.

Enterprise Challenge

We used our Enterprising skills to create models of healthy in-flight meals as part of our Glasgow Airport topic. Using a Critical Skills approach, we worked in groups to create a healthy menu for an in-flight meal which we then recreated as a model by designing and creating the meal using recycled materials.

Pastures New

In November we said good-bye to one of our class members (and his brother in another class) as they were moving with their family to New Zealand. Although we were all very excited for the boys, the class (and school as a whole) were very sad to see them leave so we had our own party to see them off.

Welcome to our Blog

Primary 5/6 have settled well into the new school year and are looking forward to the term ahead. We have already started our new topic - Glasgow Airport - and each have our own 'passport' which we will use to travel around the world.
